Last week saw all the children engaged in events welcoming the London 2012 Olympics. The week started with an inspiring talk in assembly from Noel Thatcher who spoke of his journey to win a gold medal in the Paralympics. Noel explained to the children that to have goals and aspirations is a good thing.
Later in the week the children built a Lego Olympic village including a Westfield shopping centre! This was a great day with all the children working together to produce a whole school project. Thursday afternoon saw the classes presenting their Olympic facts to parents and the rest of the school. Friday started very early for some at Haven House where the children appeared on ‘Daybreak’, the ITV morning breakfast show, as part of National Children’s Hospice week. This was followed by our Sports Day at The Wells Cricket Club; a great day with lots of children gaining gold medal stickers for their sporting achievements.
