Friday, 28th September saw Avon House participating in the annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The coffee morning, which was organised by the school’s catering staff, was well supported by parents and staff and raised the grand sum of £306.
This was also Dahlicious Dress Up Day. An array of characters arrived at school as the pupils and staff joined in the fundraiser. Head Teacher Amanda Campbell said: “The Dahlicious Dress Up day is a wonderfully fun and creative way to support ‘Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity’ by raising money for specialist nurses, care and equipment for children with rare neurological and blood conditions. Pupils and staff dressed as characters from Roald Dahl’s stories and rhymes and donated £2 each.”
