Take One Picture

An exciting week at Avon House has seen the whole school taking part in The National Gallery’s ‘Take One Picture’  project which invites primary schools from around the country to use a picture from The National Gallery collection as inspiration for learning about art and famous paintings.

This year’s focus is the painting ‘Still Life with the Drinking-Horn of the Saint Sebastian’ by Willem Kalf (1653).

Activities during the week included a visit to The National Gallery for Years 1-6, a visit from a fishmonger, drama and music sessions and art work – all culminating in a special Assembly and fantastic hall displays.
