On Friday, 26th April, we had a special visit from Henry the Hound at our balloon race in support of Haven House Hospice.
The hospice’s mascot watched as the children released some 200 balloons in a sponsored event organized by Morris House. Each balloon was sold for £5, raising the grand total of £1,035.
The person who finds the balloon which travelled the furthest will receive a £100 travel voucher donated by Dagenham Travel. Alexander Christodoulou from Foundation 2 will receive a sweet hamper having raised the most money – £150.
Mrs Geisler, head of Morris House, said: “This is a great achievement for such a small school. This year we have literally reached new heights! Last year we raised £400 for Haven House, with the money used to by art supplies, and we thought that total was really good.” She added: “People have responded to the cause. It’s so important that our children understand that there are children at Haven House who may not get better so we support the charity which does such amazing work.”
We wait with anticipation to see whose balloon flies the furthest.
