Year 4 spent the afternoon of Thursday, 2nd October, experiencing how Jewish people celebrate Shabbat (their Sabbath). We had Jewish guests come in to our classroom. With them, they brought special candles, a washing cup, a knife and wooden board for cutting bread and a prayer book written in Hebrew. We listened to the prayers and were able to taste grape juice and challah. Challah is a special plaited bread which most of us thought was delicious!
