Healthy Living Week

Healthy Living Week started on Monday, 15th June with a lively assembly led by the school’s Eco and Travel Council who challenged pupils to ‘Make One Change’ during the week.  They could ‘Park and Stride’ to school, or give up a pudding or sweet for some fruit or vegetables.
On Tuesday the Eco and Travel councillors led exercises in class and on Wednesday pupils in Years 2, 3 and 6 met at the Hawkey Hall to walk to school.
Thursday saw children take part in exercises to music before the classes created displays on various topics including ‘save the planet’, being more active and healthy eating.
Friday saw the whole school take part in sports day.
Mrs Gill Geisler, head of the Eco Council, said: “It was a fantastic week involving all the children as they all had to ‘Make One Change’ to their daily routines.  This week will help the school as we continue to work towards Healthy School status and the Eco School Green Flag award.”
