On Thursday, 12th December, Miss Anderson took the maths team to compete in the National Young Mathematician Award.
The team had to complete a series of maths challenges and reached the final challenge. Their excellent teamwork was commented on as well as their explanations of their thinking and method to complete the tasks. We were thrilled to reach the regional finals as only two schools were chosen from the Borough of Redbridge. The children found the task challenging but worked hard on solving it. The judges were particularly impressed with the team’s cooperation and thorough approach to the problem. Unfortunately we did not reach the final round at Cambridge, but we are extremely proud of the team for competing in the regional finals.
Congratulations to the team who took part in both events: Kobika, Krishan, Tristen and Lakshmi.
