On Thursday, 17th March, pupils from the Pre-Prep were selected to represent Avon House in the first ISA U7 football tournament.
We travelled to Barnet Power League where we played on a 4G surface which was new to some of the children. In the first game the team were a little nervous and came up against tough opposition and unfortunately lost. This was followed by another loss, however the children were starting to get used to the style of play. With a few adjustments to positions in the team, we went on to win 5 games in a row. This included results of 4-0 and 8-0 wins which they were very pleased with. We won our semi-final 3-1 which put us into the final.
The final score was 1-1 forcing a penalty shoot-out. We scored all four of our penalties and Aditya saved two of the opposition’s penalties. It resulted in us lifting the shield and winning the competition!
The boys had a great day out and were really happy to represent Avon House. A special well done to Charlie (Year 1) who played with the Year 2 boys.
