Year 1 visit to Fire Station

On Wednesday, 25th November, Year 1 visited Woodford Green Fire Station as part of our ‘People Who Help Marvellous Me’ topic. The children had a wonderful time finding out about how fire fighters can help us, the equipment they use and the uniform they wear. Year 3 Roman Workshop

Our focus topic this term in Year 3 has been the Romans.  On Monday, 16th November we had a special visit from Crew to help us extend our knowledge.  The pupils took part in a re-enactment of the battle with Queen Boudicca.  We then dressed up as different people such as a Roman soldier, Queen Boudicca, slaves, Julius Caesar and the celtic army. The children also held and smelled various Roman replicas. Continue reading

Choir perform with New Redbridge Wind Orchestra

On Saturday, 14th November, our school choir were invited to sing with the New Redbridge Wind Orchestra at a concert at All Saints Church.  This was a great opportunity for our children to perform with musicians.  The piece “What If” which was sung and performed as the finale to the programme was written by Chris Wilcox, a member of the orchestra.  The children were very excited when they found out that Chris plays the tuba, one of the largest instruments in the orchestra.
