On Tuesday 29th January, Year 4 at Avon House independent school, visited the Swaminarayan Mandir Temple in Neasden. Hinduism is one of the religions studied in Year 4 and we were very fortunate to be given the opportunity to visit this most beautiful example of Indian culture and architecture.
On Tuesday, 22nd January, our swimming squad took part in the Forest School swimming gala. We started by warming up in the pool and then the races began. We came 8th overall out of 11 schools. A special mention to Ella Wellsman (Year 3) who swam butterfly competing against Year 6 children. Haimish won a gold medal for the 25m front crawl.
On Wednesday, 23rd January Helen Cray from the Redbridge Travel Plan came to visit Year 1 and Year 2 students at our independent school, to give a talk about road safety. She involved the children in acting out some scenarios to help understand the need to be safe on the roads and pavements. Continue reading
Foundation 1 enjoyed a science lesson in the snow this morning. They looked at snowflakes with magnifying glasses and watched the snow melt and turn to water. Continue reading
