To celebrate the end of Foundation 1’s ‘Monster Mania’ topic, the class held a ‘Monster Mash Up’.
The children came to school dressed as monsters and tried to scare the Foundation staff.

Year 2 was full of excitement on 24th March as the children came to school dressed as characters from Alice in Wonderland. This half term the class have been studying the book, looking at the characters and the parts they played in the story. Continue reading
It is unusual for a school to employ a Piper to get rid of the pupils but children in Years 1 and 2 were in that position as they prepared to perform a musical based on the traditional tale ‘The Pied Piper’. Continue reading

Avon House has been supporting this worthwhile cause by wearing noses and making cakes. Year 4 led a thoughtful assembly highlighting the issues and projects that our money would support.

On Thursday, 5th March, Year 6 visited the SSE Wembley arena for the WE Day charity event organised by Free the Children. We enjoyed listening to many inspirational speakers including Richard Branson, Kweku Mandela and Martin Sheen. Continue reading
On a cold crisp morning 100 intrepid children took to the field at Bancroft’s RFC to take part in the inaugural Avon House School Tag Rugby Festival on Friday, 27th February. Children from seven schools played valiantly throughout the day, competing positively and incorporating the ideals promoted within the game of rugby. Continue reading
On Friday, 13th February, the whole school gathered in the playground to cheer on the competitors in the pancake race. The children raced up and down the playground tossing their pancakes, with winners from Early Years, KS1 and KS2. This was followed by a staff race. Continue reading
