Yr1 Visit Clone valley Railway

Posted: 14th June 2018

On Thursday 7th June, Year 1 visited the Colne Valley Railway in Halstead. They had a really enjoyable day taking parts in lots of different activities. The children experienced a pleasurable ride on a 60 year old diesel  train and they used their senses to describe the things they could see, hear, smell and feel. The children got to watch the signal man in the signal box change the signal and the train tracks for the train driver. Then the children experienced what it was like to be a post sorter on a Royal Mail train. For lunch, the children ate their lunch on a train and thought this was very unusual.  At the end of the day the children watched a model railway made by a man which took him 40 years to make!
