Seven Year 2 pupils attended a football tournament on Friday 12th May, competing against a number of schools from surrounding areas and beyond at Barnet Power League. Led by Mr Thornley and accompanied by Mrs Lord, the boys produced a high-level of football throughout to beat the majority of their opponents. Stand-out performances came from Benicio in goals and Aliyaan and Kaelen outfield. The U7 team managed to reach the semi-final of the competition but suffered defeat at this stage in a close encounter. However, the team reacted positively to win the third/fourth play-off and finish third overall – an outstanding achievement at what was for most of these children their first experience of an external sport tournament.
