Urdu Storytelling

Posted: 29th February 2024

As part of February’s Language of the Month, Mrs Yasmeen was invited by Miss Whitestone into classes from Years 2 – 6 to read to the children familiar stories in Urdu. The children welcomed stories such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? We have many Urdu speaking children in our school and this was a wonderful opportunity for these children, as well as the rest of the school, to celebrate this language. In Year 4, the Urdu speaking children even acted out We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.
