Avon House attended Woodford Green’s U11 Football tournament at Fairlop Power League on Friday. Captained by Easton (6NH), the boys produced great performances in the initial group stages. The group was extremely competitive with Avon House, Chigwell and Loyola B all finishing on 5 points each. This resulted in penalty shootouts between all three teams. Unfortunately, after going to sudden-death in both shootouts,
Chigwell and Loyola were victorious. This meant that Avon House went into the third group (all teams that finished third in their groups). The penalty shootout defeats proved to dent the boys’ confidence as narrow losses against Snaresbrook and Forest followed. However, the boys showed courage to rise to the challenge set by Chigwell B and claim third place in the group with a resounding 8-0 victory to finish the day on.
