On Saturday, the u11 football team took part in the Chigwell football festival.
The boys were very excited to get the season off to a good start, and that was what they did. The team were playing with passion and showing their hard work was paying off. They were passing and moving and putting constant pressure on the other teams. There first game ended up in a 0-0 draw with the attack unable to finish the end product. They followed this up with an exciting 1-1 draw against a tough opposition. Following this their confidence was high and they went out from the off scoring 7 goals and finishing the game 7-1 against Woodford Wells. With confidence at its highest, the boys lost a bit of positioning and were punished by Chigwell losing 2-1. The final game was the most exhilarating game and somehow it finished 0-0 vs St Aubyns. There were missed penalties, the woodwork being hit numerous times and some great saves from both keepers. It was an excellent effort from the boys, they played some great football and look forward to playing in the Forest tournament next week.
