Early Years is one of the most important times in a child’s development and we understand that you want what is best for your child. Every child is unique and choosing when and where to start the educational journey can be overwhelming and sometimes confusing. At Avon House, we strive to make the admissions process as simple as possible for you and our Admissions Lead is on hand to answer any questions that you may have.
We advise and welcome all prospective parents to come and visit our School. See for yourself how our Early Years department is organised and run and how there is an easy transition to our Reception classes, when compulsory school begins. We welcome visitors to the School at our Open Mornings held in the Autumn and Summer Terms and there is also the option to book in for a personal tour by contacting our Admissions Lead (admissions@ahsprep.co.uk).
To register your interest in a place for your child to join either our Foundation 1 (Nursery) class or our Foundation 2 (Reception) classes, please email admissions@ahsprep.co.uk to request a Registration Form. There is also a a non-returnable £100 Registration Fee required. Upon receipt of both the Registration Form and Registration Fee, the Admissions Lead will confirm that you have registered your interest for your child to join Avon House Preparatory School.
As our Nursery places are awarded on a first come, first served basis, there is no informal assessment required* Following you registering your interest, an Entry Acceptance Form is required for completion along with a £650 Entry Fee payment. Following receipt of the Entry Acceptance Form and the Entry Fee payment, you will secure your child’s place at Avon House Preparatory School.
One year prior to entry, you and your child will be invited to attend your first ‘Stay and Play Session.’ These sessions occur throughout the year (in the year prior to your child’s entry to Avon House) and provide an opportunity for you to meet with the EYFS teaching team, for your child to visit the school and meet with their cohort for the up and coming school year.
In the Summer Term prior to your child joining Avon House, you will be invited to attend a few Parent Evening Zoom sessions that are held by the Early Years Coordinator, Head of Pre-Prep and Admissions Lead. The team will talk you through everything that you need to know ahead of joining Avon House including uniform requirements, the EYFS timetable, getting your child ready for school, key term dates and setting in periods.
