Today, Sustainability Council braved sub zero temperatures to enhance our school’s new nature-friendly outdoor learning space. As part of their efforts, the Council helped a landscaping company to build both a bug hotel and a hedgehog house, engaging with nature and learning about sustainability. The bug hotel will provide a safe haven for a variety of insects, which play a vital role in pollination and maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Pupils will be able to observe different species and understand how even the smallest creatures contribute to the environment. The hedgehog house is designed to provide shelter for hedgehogs, particularly during the colder months. These projects are part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the outdoor learning environment and encouraging pupils to take an active role in caring for the planet. The outdoor space will become a living classroom, full of opportunities to observe nature in action and learn valuable lessons about conservation and the environment. We are proud of the Sustainability Council’s work and excited to see how the school community continues to grow its connection with the natural world!
