For some pupils the day starts with breakfast which is served by a team of staff in our Breakfast Club. Pupils receive a nutritious, balanced breakfast consisting of porridge, cereal, toast, yogurt and fruit.
Mid-Morning Healthy Fruit Snack
Nursery pupils are provided with a fruit snack which they are encouraged to prepare and then share with friends. The remainder of the School bring a fruit snack from home which is eaten before the mid-morning break.
School lunches are prepared and cooked on the premises by the specialist schools caterer, CH&Co, who produce a wide choice of food and cater for vegetarian and other special diets. CH&Co provide home cooked dishes from fresh produce using healthy methods and entice our pupils to try something new by making food fun and adventurous.
All pupils are expected to eat the lunches provided; the cost is included in the school fees.
Lunch is served in the school hall, supervised by a midday supervision team. Teachers sit with their respective classes as we encourage pupils to respect good table manners and healthy eating habits.
There are a number of interactive healthy eating activities, to ensure pupils enjoy their food, eat healthily and get the nutrition to support learning in class and fitness on the sports field (in line with article 24 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child).
The School does not offer Halal meat due to the food preparation area not being sufficient to support multiple catering arrangements.
Pupils using our after-school care facility are given a healthy fruit snack and drink once they have been registered for out of hours care. Those pupils staying beyond 5.00pm are given a packed sandwich tea with a choice of sandwich fillings, fruit, yogurt, fruit juice and a biscuit.
