What a fabulous finale Year 2 had for their topic, Bright Lights, Big City! On Tuesday 28th March, they travelled by tube to the Tower of London. The children eagerly mapped out the route they would need to take on the tube, travelling on both the Central line and the District line. When they arrived, the children were excited to identify the Shard, Tower Bridge and the River Thames as they walked to the Tower of London. Once there, the children had a jam-packed day to explore the Tower. They found Traitors’ Gate and learnt about the prisoners that were brought into the Tower there and took great interest in touring and interacting with the many displays in the Tower’s Mint. They enjoyed a workshop about The Great Fire of London and were interested to tour The White Tower and look at the suits of armour. They also liked seeing the ravens but the main highlight was definitely seeing the Changing of the Guard and viewing the Crown Jewels!
