On Friday 28th June, four intrepid pupils, Azrael (Y3) Dinore (Y4) Niharan (Y5) and Zoya (Y6) attended the Quiz Club National General Knowledge Finals at Oxford University’s Examination Rooms. In this splendid setting were another twenty-eight eager and bright teams, some of which were furiously cramming right up to the start of the quiz. After six rounds encompassing the location of the Galapagos Islands, the poet who wrote “Daffodils,” the 20th century decade which saw three UK kings and the composer of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, sadly the team failed to sustain the stellar form shown in the initial heat and semi-finals, finishing 23rd out of twenty-nine teams. This was still a fine effort, after a lengthy road trip and many thanks to Mr Evans, team manager and Miss Lewis, designated driver and the quartet for their practice . Who knows, in twelve years they might be back in the same room sitting their finals!
