Choir representatives from Years 5 and 6 proved that they could sing their hearts out with no ‘treble’ this week, as Avon House took part in Young Voices 2025 on Monday night! Running for over 25 years, Young Voices organises the largest children’s choir concerts in the world, helping children discover their voices and allowing them to take part in an incredible group performing opportunity.
Hosted at the O2, we joined over 8,200 young people exploring the power of music to sing a wide variety of musical songs including a Bob Marley medley, a David Bowie medley, ‘Oceania’ and ‘Little Birdhouse in your Soul.’ Highlights also included singing ‘Little Blue’ in rehearsals with the Grammy award winning songwriter, Jacob Collier and ‘Readers are Leaders’ with MC Grammer during the performance.
During the event we also enjoyed the dance skills of Urban Strides, the vocal talents of Tommy Blaize, who performs on Strictly Come Dancing, and Souparnika Nair who was in a Young Voice choir not so long ago herself, demonstrating to our pupils that anything is possible if you can dream and work hard!
The O2 was packed with family and friends of the performers, who enjoyed the event and created lasting memories. We’re very proud of all our pupils, how they represented Avon House during our second Young Voices and we are looking forward to returning next year already!
