Gong Xi Fa Cai

Posted: 30th January 2025

Avon House came together to celebrate the year of the snake and the start of the 2025 Lunar New Year yesterday, with different activities taking place across the whole school. Activities included traditional Chinese calligraphy on special rice paper with instructions on how to write  ‘Luck’ and ‘Snake,’ dragon dancing using a costume created by Year 2, creating Lunar New Year coding projects on Scratch, making Chinese fans, lanterns and paper craft snakes, generating a Chinese music soundscape with instruments, enjoying a tasty Chinese lunch from our Thomas Franks catering team and of course, exploring the story of The Great Race and the Chinese Zodiac.  With a big thank you to our parent volunteers, whose time, effort and involvement helped to enrich our environment for all pupils to learn in.
