On Monday 29th June, three teams attended the Quiz Club National Independent schools finals at the hallowed Examination Halls of Oxford University.
Our General Knowledge team comprising Dinore, Ethan, Xavier and Zavaar did particularly, well finishing an impressive joint fifth of thirty-four teams!
Many prestigious schools were contesting including Westminster, Highgate, Merchant Taylors, Alleyn’s and Haberdashers and in the Science quiz in the late afternoon Westminster romped to victory with an astonishing 1,860 points ( out of 2,000).
Team 1 of Jumana. Jason, Ethan and Azrael accumulated a creditable 19th with 1,390 points but significantly, beating Bancroft’s.
Team 2 of Dinore, Sebastian, Aarit and Rohan came 26th with 1,220 points.
It was gratifying to see so many principal actors from the Lion King production feature but lunch-time rehearsals took precedence this term over quiz practice.
Well done to Mr Evans for identifying and honing the talents of these bright pupils and to Mr Fredricks and Ms Lewis for kindly driving the teams to and from the venue.
