Our U11 Mixed Hockey competed in the ISA London North Hockey Tournament last Friday. Held at Old Loughtonians Hockey Club, pupils played against eight other schools and progressed to the plate competition after the initial group stage. Head Girl, Emily (6NH) scored a decisive penalty shuffle whilst Captain Mannat (6NH) made superb saves to see Avon House progress to the final of the plate. The final was a close encounter that had to be decided but another penalty shuffle. Unfortunately, it was Salcombe who claimed victory. Pupils should be proud of their efforts and for achieving silver medals in the plate. Stand-out performances on the day came from Tanure (6JM) and Easton (6NH).
