Stratford & East London Music Festival 2026

Posted: 10th February 2026

The Avon House Music Department proudly took part in the Stratford & East London Music Festival 2026, held at the beautiful St Mary’s Church, Woodford. The event brought together talented young musicians from across the region for a joyful celebration of music-making.

A huge thank you goes to the festival organisers for delivering such a wonderfully run event and for their warm hospitality.

This year was especially exciting for Avon House, as pupils from both Prep and Pre-Prep took to the stage to represent the school.

The Year 5 & 6 Choir achieved a Commended 3rd place in the Trad/Folk Song – Children’s Choirs Under 11’s category for their performances of Abide With Me and Can You Hear Me? They also received a Commended award in the Christmas in February – Children’s Choirs Under 11’s class for their renditions of The Christmas Song and Sing a Song of Christmas Cheer.

Meanwhile, the Year 1 & 2 Choir delivered a show-stopping performance, winning the prestigious Cantori Vocal Ensemble Cup (Children’s Choir Under 7’s) for their delightful singing of Five Happy Sheep and We’re the Wemmicks! 🏆

The school is immensely proud of every single performer. Special recognition goes to the Pre-Prep choir members, many of whom were stepping onto the stage for the very first time — performing with confidence, enthusiasm and big smiles throughout.

Congratulations to all involved on a wonderful achievement.
