This week Avon House welcomed Neal Zetter, a performance poet, author and educator, for a Prep department poetry slam. Each class were challenged to learn a different poem written by Mr Zetter, to create a story map to aid their performance and to add actions to make an interesting performance. Mr Zetter visited each class to offer feedback and performance advice before the best performers were chosen for the poetry slam final, hosted at The Woodford Wells Club.
Well done to everyone who took part, Mr Zetter, the staff and Prep pupils attending really enjoyed all the varied performances.
Congratulations to our overall winners first place awarded to a group from Year 5 and second place awarded to a group from Year 6!
