Sustainability Council Litter Pick

Posted: 19th May 2025

As part of our celebrations for STEM Week and its inspiring theme, “What a Wonderful World,” our Sustainability Council took action to help protect our local environment. On Monday 19th May, members of the Council visited the local green for a litter pick, putting into practice the important values we’ve been exploring in school.

Equipped with litter pickers, gloves, and a strong sense of purpose, the children worked together to clean up the area and were both surprised and amused by the variety of items they found! Among the more common pieces of litter, such as crisp packets and drinks cans, they even discovered an empty smoked salmon packet, much to their amazement!

The activity was a meaningful reminder of our responsibility to care for the world around us, and it tied in beautifully with the STEM Week focus on sustainability, science, and positive action. We are incredibly proud of the children’s enthusiasm and teamwork, and their commitment to making a difference in their local community.
