Student receiving a commendation for their viola work
Last Friday we held the Welcome Service at All Saints Church instead of the school hall due to our ever-extending Avon House family and what a beautiful setting it was to have our first whole school event since the pandemic began.
The assembly began with Mrs Campbell introducing the start of the new academic year with a profound message of not being blunt and staying sharp. The children thought she was re-enacting one of her virtual art lessons when the pencil came out! The sound of the whole school singing again was a joy to the ears as was Maiya playing the violin. The awards ceremony took place with the Council members being voted by their class peers. We are extremely excited to see what our RRS Council members come up with under their new Head, Nayan now we are Unicef Gold and our new Sustainability Council where we look forward to the changes they make within our local community and beyond. We would like to thank our parents for attending, many of whom was there first Avon House event and look forward to many more whole school events to come during the academic year.
