Rugby League World Cup Semi Final

Posted: 15th November 2022

Pupils of Y4, Y5 and Y6 attended the Rugby League World Cup Semi Final between England and Samoa at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 12th November. The children, accompanied by Mr Phillips, travelled to the venue via tube, and were able to make the most of the event’s atmosphere beforehand, with pictures around the ground and fun activities. The pupils were fortunate to meet ex-special forces and television personality Ant Middleton before the game kicked-off, and he even took the time to speak to the children about his life and achievements.

In acknowledgment of Remembrance Day, the Last Post was played as well as anthems sang before the game got underway. It was a close match, so close that extra-time was needed to   separate the two countries. It was Samoa who scored a golden point to claim victory and progress to the final of the tournament, where they will face Australia. It was an exciting and inspiring day for the children.
