All the children of Avon House School have been enthusiastically participating in Arts Week this week. They have been learning about the life and work of British artist William Turner and have spent the week creating their own landscapes in his particular style. The prep school was lucky enough to visit Tate Britain to see all of Turner’s work and I am pleased to say the behaviour of all of the children was exemplary. They were all very focused on the tasks set and enjoyed using their own sketchbooks to remember the experience.
Children in the Pre-Prep have been working together to create beautiful sunset pictures and the Early Years have been able to experience drawing landscapes outside and testing a range of artist materials. All the work that has been created this week will be on display in the School Hall, along with photos and sketchbooks, next Thursday evening. We look forward to seeing you there!
