Our RRS Council continues to be busy promoting Children’s Rights around our school. This week, they have updated their RRS Board which is located in our School’s Library. The board highlights relevant Articles that our pupils have access to around the School. Next week, on Thursday 3rd March, we will be celebrating World Book Day. The World Book Day event was created by UNESCO in 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading. Spending just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories can make a crucial difference to a child’s future success and is fun for all involved.
Reading stories is also a great opportunity to make links to Rights, in particular Articles 17 (access to information from the media), Article 29 (the aims of education) and Article 31 (leisure, play and culture).Categories: RRS
