As part of our WOW Day for our new topic ‘Into the Woods,’ our Year 2s ventured into Knighton Woods to hunt for nature’s treasures! From birds’ nests to earth worms, the children searched both high and low to spot a variety of flora and fauna which may be found in woodland and pond habitats. This was also a wonderful way to help increase the children’s awareness of our local environment and the fun did not stop there! In their Art lesson today, the children were introduced to the main characters from the text ‘The Wind in the Willows” and were asked to create their own portraits of Ratty and Mole. We cant wait to delve deeper into the woods and The Wind in the Willows this term!
