On Friday, our boys U11 football team participated in the ISA National Football Finals for the first time in the school’s history. The event was held at the prestigious St George’s Park – home of England football, and where both the men’s and women’s teams train. It was a special experience for all pupils, parents and staff involved as the boys played on pitches that would see the likes of Harry Kane and Leah Williamson stepping foot on them. In our initial group, we won three matches and lost two matches, leading to the school finishing joint-third in a group of six, and progressing to the plate draw. Once more, the boys performed superbly to make the third/fourth play-off of the plate. Unfortunately, we lost this match, but finished twelfth out of twenty-seven national schools, which is an outstanding achievement. Each pupil should be extremely proud of their performances throughout the day and their sportsmanship displayed with other teams and officials.
