A few children from the Prep School spent a week researching, painting pictures of, designing and building new bridges to span the River Thames. After a trip into London to look at existing bridges, they painted the ones they’d seen and made prototypes of their ideas out of rolled newspaper. After this, the children sketched out their inspiring designs and then working in teams, built the bridges from cardboard, tape and string.
The finished constructions were surprisingly sturdy and resilient when put to the test. The engineers of the future!
