Today was Ada Lovelace Day, a global event to raise the profile of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The day aims to encourage more girls into STEM careers and support women already working in the STEM field. Year 2 Flamingos and Herons enjoyed meeting ‘Ada’ and learning more about her incredible life yesterday in a practical workshop hosted by Freshwater Theatre. Taking our pupils on a journey of the history of computing, coding and how the computing devices we use today have changed through time. They enjoyed interactive algorithm activities and being able to ask their questions about this historical figure to a knowledgeable actress.
