The Spring Term Wow Day was in full swing across the Pre-Prep department today, engaging our pupils with their new topic learning during their first morning back. Foundation 1 have shared the story of a magical hen that laid golden eggs, recreated the story in class using their small world activities and found their own golden eggs in the playground. Foundation 2 searched for characters from Gingerbread Man in a scavenger hunt in our woodland area, then baked their own tasty Gingerbread Men in class. Year 1 got to grips with different living spaces, discussing unusual places like igloos and tree houses. Using their imagination they created paper bag houses, later designing and assembling bird houses to take home to help feed the birds during the winter. Year 2 were thrilled to see Paddington Bear return to Avon House, as they created Paddington cakes and searched the Avon House grounds for clues to give them the letters for the location of Paddington’s hiding place in school! What a busy start to 2025, leaving our Early Years and Pre-Prep pupils eager and ready for more this term!
