World Book Day – Celebrating All Things Literacy

Posted: 3rd March 2023

Our World Book Day celebrations started as soon as the children came through the school gates this morning. This year we asked the children to dress as a vocabulary word and the playground was buzzing with the sound of all the fabulous words being shared and the appreciation of the spectacularly creative costumes. Throughout the day, children met with Neal Zetter, a performance poet, who visited the school to share his passion for poetry. The children had the opportunity to join in with lots of his entertaining poems and some classes performed poetry to Neal. The day included lots of literacy lessons, a fabulous book inspired lunch and a costume parade to showcase the creativity of the costumes and words. Overall, a celebration of all things Literary!
